There is a problem with USD converted to rubels, from what I learned from other people. Electronic donations work much better. I only have a federal poverty level income and get cheated by many. My Section 8 apt is in a poorly-run luxury complex because they have to have 50 apartments as Section 8 as an agreement after Obama gave them several millions of dollars of USGov money - and don't worry, they created the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting HOAX to steal over a trillion dollars from the economy! Including USGov! Adam Lanza isn't even a real person! They cause me much harm here! I went to the dentist to get a crown on a tooth that was almost whole. They did a root canal. He removed most of my tooth! I had that little left from a tooth and a dentist said it could not be restored! I already had a root canal, I just couldn't afford to pay for the crown - I was supposed to get Social Security for the whole time I applied to when I was granted it. They only gave me 3 months, and no doubt the political criminals that are in Connecticut stole the rest of my money! After all, I am against drug dealing and burglaries and murder - all of which police were OK with AND involved with! And politicians go along with it because it's money in the bank for them!

President Joe Biden will sign a new law banning products made with Uyghur forced labor in China, the White House has confirmed, in a blow to corporate interests that have lobbied against stricter import standards.
The bipartisan and bicameral Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act passed the House by unanimous voice vote late on Tuesday. Introduced to the lower chamber by Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA), it is a compromise version of the bill authored by Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) last year.
The law places the burden of proof on American companies to demonstrate that imported goods were not mined, produced or manufactured wholly or in part with forced labor.
It is set to become the strongest U.S. action against what successive administrations have described as gross human rights violations in Xinjiang, a source of cotton products but also polysilicon, an important raw material in the manufacture of solar panels.
In demanding transparency and a cleaner supply chain, the legislators will complicate the work of importers and likely affect their bottom line. Lawmakers said major American businesses had fought the legislation for months. Among the companies were reportedly Nike and Coca-Cola, according to The New York Times.

It may seem unfathomable to jaded Southern Californians, but there are still many places in the United States where one can score a (relatively) nice house on a (relatively) big lot for way under $1 million. Take the coastal Rhode Island town of Portsmouth, where veteran YouTube star Scotty Kilmer and his longtime wife Leslie have paid $580,000 for a charming spot with through-the-trees views of Sakonnet River, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean. Records suggest the couple does not have a mortgage on the property.
Kilmer actually bought the house last fall, and has already shown off bits and pieces of the place on his YouTube channel — naturally. The mostly flat property spans more than half an acre of land, and comes complete with a detached two-car garage, a large shed, lush lawns and a 1965-built main house. At just under 1,200 square feet, that house is small, but it’s been nicely updated throughout with an open floorplan, hardwood floors, two large fireplaces and even a master bathroom with radiant heated floors.
A native of Niagara Falls, Kilmer had an unusual path to fame and fortune. The 68-year-old has worked as a mechanic for decades, and in the 2000s he hosted a TV show on a local Houston network that saw him answering questions related to mechanical problems and providing car-related advice. From those entertainment industry seeds sprang his popular YouTube channel, which has attracted widespread attention in the car community and legions of both fans and critics.
Unlike most other YouTube auto reviewers, Kilmer typically doesn’t record himself driving cars or even sitting in cars, for that matter. Instead, watching one of his videos is a frequently surreal experience, with the sunglasses-wearing Kilmer often screaming at the camera while flailing his arms up and around. While he is particularly fond of Toyotas, he criticizes most other brands, and his videos usually digress from cars into the subjects of aftermarket additives, politics and beyond.
Controversial as it may be, Kilmer’s unconventional approach has paid off. Today, he’s accumulated nearly five million YouTube subscribers and a whopping 1.7 billion lifetime views, making him one of the platform’s most successful automotive channels of all time — and assuredly a very, very wealthy mechanic.

Scotty had me on his show in the summer of 2021 showing my 1999 green Toyota Camry. When I pulled up, he was in the garage installing some tiles that he was sent for free. He asked me to help and I said sure, but we never actually got to that point. He showed me all around his new house and it was beautiful. He told me what the previous owner had done and what the previous owner had screwed up. He also got a bonus where they cut some trees down so he then had a perfect line of sight to the bay nearby. Apparently taxes are higher when you have a view of the bay so he was happy that the town didn’t know about it. He was awesome to hang out with for about an hour and a half. He did the video on my car and we talked about the electric bikes and electric scooters he had in his garage and how he got them for free. People love to send him stuff, or should I say companies. The house was beautiful and Scotty was awesome to hang out with. I also met his wife and she was super nice. I took some video on my cell phone of him doing the video on my car, which I’ll cherish for a long time.

He’s entertaining and knows what he’s talking about. I’ve only ever owned Toyotas and Lexus and I’ve never had a catastrophic experience with either. And this is long before I start watching his content. What I’ve learnt from him and what I’ve seen people around me go through with different car brands, I know he’s absolutely right. The only people that hate him are the people who drive the money pits and can’t handle the truth because it really does hurt. One thing I like that he said was that Toyotas are boring cars because you get in and drive it everyday and it just starts up no problem. Goes for years that way. Other brands are more exciting because you never know what you’re gonna get when you go to start it on the morning.

What a nice home. Scotty is very entertaining and informative and his success is richly deserved. A recent video he seemed to be back in Texas and last autumn he was in Tennessee, so he is fortunate to roam between some nice areas. He got well off without being a hedge fund manager or a corporate exec with stock options. Honesty and hard work does sometimes pay off.

The comment about Kilmer “…ONLY living in Island…” is surely invalidated by the RI purchase. I’ve never heard him mention Long Island, though he sometimes says that his early years were lived in the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area. The vast majority of his videos seem to been shot from his Houston home.

If you can’t make sense of what he says 75% of the time, I would say that suggests you don’t know much about cars and how they work.
Kilmer is opinionated, but he typically knows what he is talking about. Sure he makes the rare mistake (IMHO) but the only one that comes to mind is saying that TopTier gasoline is a gimmick. I think it’s well proven.

Scotty is cool. Hope he sees this. I had an uncle that lived in Portsmouth near the high school and I used to spend a lot of time there as a kid. Just a few miles North and over the state line, is a has been factory town called Fall River, Massachusetts. Although it is lost most of its glory since manufacturing collapsed, they have some of the best restaurants in the entire region. You can find anything from French, Portuguese, Italian, Lebanese, Chinese and a host of other nationalities. Not just excellent food but cheap as heck. I grew up in that City years ago but have since moved away to the suburbs. We always prided ourselves as having the best pizza pie in the area. Hands down. Better than Providence and better than Boston. The Greeks and the Portuguese make the best pizzas. My opinion. Good luck Scotty with your new property.

Scotty sold his Houston house about a year and a half ago, and got about $500k for it. He paid like $40k for it many years ago. I’ve been there and searched through the garage right after he moved. I should have visited him earlier as I worked right by there, but I never figured he would move that soon! Yes he’s now a millionaire entertainer that has a lot of knowledge of cars.
