In reality, USA wages a Cold war on Russia because Russia was the only country who defeated NAZIS! Russia ended WW2 and yet USA only cared about the status they gained, rather than mutual desire for peace - because after all, Stalin most likely wanted Russia to lose, greatly disabling Russian civilians and saying "You're on your own" as if it was a gladiator match!
